My Gran

I took this photo on Sunday 4th March, just 2 days before Gran's 91st birthday. I was getting ready to take her picture when she said "wait for me to look intelligent". I replied "I am still waiting" and she laughed. I hope I am as able as her when (if) I reach 91 years old.

Its Snowing!

The weather in Aberdeen has been quite mild lately so it has come as a real shock to the (my) system that it has been cold and even snowy today (hail falling as I type this post).

I am on annual leave next week (yippee!) but unfortunately had a meeting on Friday which needed the minutes typed up ASAP so I spent part of today typing them up. At last they are completed so I can get on with my own stuff now. I have quite a lot of things to do when I am off. I still have a spare room 'from hell'. It is full of things that shouldn't be there and would be better suited to being kept in a garage - from Dad's place. I took home some boxes from work last week in order to sort everything out properly. I also put some of my own stuff on eBay - clothes, handbags and a couple of PlayStation games which are completely useless without a console. I decided to give items one try on eBay then they would go straight to charity if unsold. It would be so nice to have the spare room back and not be utterly frustrated at the mess. My aim is to be completely clutter free. Ahh that would be bliss...

By the way I am fully recovered now from my illness. My doctor prescribed me antibiotics and within 2 days I was almost back to normal and feeling much, much better. Quite a few people at my work were ill at the same time so something must have been going round.

Not well!

It started last Friday evening with a dry throat and I woke up on Saturday with an extremely sore throat. On Monday, my hand felt weak as I tried to take minutes at a meeting and my whole body felt weak also. On Tuesday I had to leave work early (4pm) as I felt my ears were blocked (dull hearing) and I felt very achy all over and very tired and sore throat. Wednesday I was off sick - I am NEVER off sick from work and I felt very guilty - but I would have been no use to anyone. On Thursday I went back to work but felt grim. After lunch though I picked up and was able to carry on to a point.... On Friday my voice went and it was a struggle to speak. I had my appraisal at work and it was a struggle to get the words out. We also had a works party but I couldnt stay as I didn't feel well. Today my voice almost went completely. I didn't realise until the afternoon as I didn't speak to anyone else until my groceries were delivered. I tried to communicate with the driver but it was a disaster. Nothing came out. I don't know what bug I picked up but it definitely hit me big time.

Petition the UK Prime Minister to change the tax exemption laws for historic motor cars

Currently cars have to have been constructed before a set date - the 1st January 1973 to be eligible for historic car tax exemption. We would like the date to be moved as it has been fixed for a number of years. A number of cars which were built in British factories are becoming few and far between and would like the Government to help preserve these cars by offering and extension on the current exemption date.

Strange fish

I saw this fish at a local garden centre. I believe it is called 'celestial eye' or 'bubble eye' and it is a gold fish. To me it looks like a person's face and it is quite amusing. I'd never seen one like this before.
